We’re taking Booking.com to court — and we need your support

For two and a half years, Dutch prosecutors have sat on our criminal complaint against Booking.com without making a decision. Enough is enough. The Rights Forum, ELSC, SOMO and Al-Haq are now taking the fight to court.

What’s this about? In late 2023, we filed a criminal complaint against Booking.com. The company profits from renting out accommodation in illegal Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine — and launders that money through the Netherlands. International law is unambiguous: these settlements are illegal, built on land stolen from Palestinians.

Why now? Dutch prosecutors have still not decided whether to charge Booking.com. Two and a half years without a decision is unacceptable. In the meantime, Israel keeps expanding its settlements, violence is escalating, and Booking.com has actually increased its listings in occupied territories. We’ve waited long enough.

As long as companies can profit from war crimes without consequences, justice remains out of reach. Through a so-called Article 12 procedure, we are asking the court to step in and decide: should this complaint lead to prosecution?
