Almost 10.000 Palestinians are being held in what human rights organizations have described as ‘a network of torture camps.’ The United Nations speaks of a ‘de facto State policy of organized and widespread torture.’

Israel has gone to great lengths to keep these systematic abuses hidden. Yet through the courage of Palestinians who have survived these camps and shared their testimonies, and of the human rights defenders working alongside them, the world has been given a glimpse of the nightmare unfolding behind prison walls.

The Rights Forum is honored to host some of these courageous voices. We invite you to join us, to listen to their stories and testimonies, and to bear witness to the torture of Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

The speakers

Doctor Daniel Solomon
Dr. Daniel Solomon is a surgeon and a board member of Physicians for Human Rights. He has been a personal witness to autopsies of Palestinians who have died in prison. And is a strong advocate for upholding ethical standards in healthcare.

Attorney Sary Khuriya
Sary Khuriya is a Palestinian citizen of Israel, who was imprisoned in late 2023 for 10 days. He has publicly spoken out about his own torture, as well as the torture of others he witnessed including the death by beating and medical neglect of a fellow prisoner.

Doctor Salih El Saddy
For four weeks in 2025, Dr. Salih El Saddy worked in Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital. There he witnessed how the conditions inflicted on Gaza’s population are so dire that they can be described as a form of torture.

The discussion will be moderated by journalist and TV-host Nadia Moussaid. Her most recent work includes a three-part documentary series about the Israeli occupation of Palestine. As well as hosting the radio program ‘Bureau Buitenland.’
