Het debat over het Israëlische apartheidsregime wordt door de politiek en media angstvallig vermeden. Dat staat haaks op het belang van het onderwerp en de overvloed aan publicaties waarin dat regime aan de kaak wordt gesteld. Wij zetten de belangrijkste publicaties op een rij.
Al sinds de jaren negentig wijzen de Palestijnen op het Israëlische regime van apartheid waaronder zij leven. Het duurde lang voor zij in het Westen gehoor vonden, maar inmiddels is het Israëlische apartheidsregime in detail gedocumenteerd. Onder meer Israëlische en internationale mensenrechtenorganisaties, waaronder Amnesty International en Human Rights Watch, stelden vast dat Israël zich schuldig maakt aan ‘de misdaad van apartheid’, die onder het oprichtingsverdrag van het Internationaal Strafhof (Statuut van Rome) een misdaad tegen de menselijkheid is.
